Citigold requirements
Citigold requirements split into two numbers Citi publishes side by side: $200,000 in combined average monthly balance to reach the tier, but only $180,000 to keep it once you already hold it. That lower figure is a retention floor for existing clients, not a discounted way in — read which number you are actually being quoted. The same attain-versus-remain split repeats one tier up, at Citigold Private Client: $1,000,000 to reach it, $800,000 to keep it.
How the balance is measured
Citi's test is a combined average monthly balance — end-of-day balances added up across the calendar month and divided by the number of days in it. Citi's own account agreement warns that the calendar month may not line up with your statement period, so a balance that clears $200,000 by your statement can still miss the average Citi actually uses to decide.
What counts toward it
Citi counts Eligible Deposit and Investment accounts toward the threshold: Citi checking, savings and CDs, IRAs and Roth IRAs, and linked Citigroup Global Markets investment accounts. Estate-owned and collateral-holding accounts are excluded.
What Citi does not publish
Citi's current wire transfer dollar amounts could not be confirmed from the material read for this page — the fee appendix is not present in the retrieved account agreement, and the only fee schedule carrying dollar figures dates from 2021 and predates this tier structure. No Citi wire dollar figures are stated here for that reason. Below Citigold sits Citi Priority, the entry-level tier, at $30,000.
