BankWins is a one-page tool, published by The Freedom Stable, that shows what a balance unlocks at nine US banks and brokerages. This page explains what is collected when you use it, who else sees it, and how to opt out.
What you type stays in your browser
The four questions on the page — cash saved, linked investments, whether banking in person matters, and what you would use — are worked out entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no account system, sign-up form or email list on this site.
What is collected, and by whom

We do not sell your personal information for money. Running third-party ad and analytics tags does, however, count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and some other US states treat it the same way. That is what the opt-out below switches off.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information in two ways, and either one is enough:
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends the GPC signal, this site treats it as an opt-out automatically. Google Analytics and Google AdSense are then never loaded.
- The button below. It stores a single setting in this browser (
bw_optout) so that Google Analytics and Google AdSense are not loaded on your future visits. It applies to this browser on this device only — clearing site data removes it.

To limit ad personalization across Google’s network generally, use Google’s My Ad Center. You can also opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you visit from these regions you will be asked for consent before cookies are used for ads or analytics, through Google’s consent message. Until you choose, ad and analytics storage stays off. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy and cookie settings link that the consent message places on the page.
Cookies
BankWins itself sets no cookies. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above, and they are not set at all when you have opted out.
Children
This site is written for adults deciding where to keep their savings. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights and how to reach us
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because your answers never leave your browser, we hold nothing tied to your name. For anything collected by Google, its own tools at myaccount.google.com are the quickest route. For anything else, write to hello@thefreedomstable.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
Changes
If what this site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
